1966 Günter Geister moves to Tuttlingen and starts a new career in the surgical industry.
1984 Founding of GEISTER family company as private company „Günter Geister“ located in Talstr. 8 in Tuttlingen. Manufacturing of surgical instruments under Private Label/ OEM for U.S. wholesalers with buying office in Tuttlingen. Initial product: Atraumatic Tissue Forceps and Bulldog Clamps.
1986 Starting export to Japan and other countries. Adding ring-handled Clamps to production range.
1989 GEISTER moves to own bulding in Föhrenstr. 2.
1991 Adding laparoscopy instruments to production range.
1992 Incorporation as GEISTER Medizintechnik KG. Dipl.Wirt.Ing. (FH) Carsten Geister joins the company
1993 Incorporation as GEISTER Medizintechnik GmbH, Managing Directors: Günter Geister, Carsten Geister.
1994 1st extension of factory building.Medica participation and expansion of GEISTER brand business with 1st full catalog.
1995 Introduction of first generation ESU-X diathermy range.
1997 2nd extension of factory building. Manufacturing of robotic instruments.
1998 Market instroduction of headlight systems and Speroni™ One for All Retractor.
1999 New main catalog „Cardiovascular and Thoracic“.
2000 Foundation of GEISTER, Inc. as U.S. representative office in Plymouth, Mass.. Design of Mohr instruments™ for MIVR.
2001 Introduction of marketing slogan „The better way to operate™“.
2003 3rd extension of factory building - administrative offices and showroom.
2005 Launch of Neurosurgery/ Spine range.
2006 Introduction of ValveGate™ range for MIVR. Introduction of Maazouzi APS™ System for aortic plasty with autologous pericardium and Ley Devices and Prostheses for prevention and treatment of median sternotomy complications.
2007 Foundation of Geister China Representative Office in Beijing/ P.R. of China.
2008 Brand business makes 90% of sales, exporting to exclusive distributors in approx. 70 countries. GEISTER joins United Nations Global Compact.
2009 Foundation of Geister India Representative Office in Mumbai (Bombay). Extension of Neuro/ Spine range. "Like diamonds in your hands!™" Microsurgery range introduced worldwide with great success. Introduction of the new design lines "PANDOR™" and "FAIRGRIP™". Despite economic crisis and budget constraints GEISTER achieves a decent global growth rate.
2010
GEISTER expands and more than doubles its production space and capacity on 43500 squarefoot newly acquired land, just next to the existing factory area. In a first expansion phase a 11000 squarefoot factory extension building is being constructed.
