THE GEISTER Multimedia-Kit™ is a camera system with ultracompact camera head - 1/4” small sized sensor module with more than 480 TV-lines - for documentation, visualization and teaching. It allows for documentation of the surgical operation right from the operating field without the need to wear a head camera or to use a camera integrated into the OR-light. So there is always an unobstructed view and a stable picture.
The high resolution digital CCD camera provides excellent picture quality and is easy to use. The camera head is carried by a static arm and is focusable for various field sizes and working distances. The static arm can be easily mechanically fixed to the OT-table or the anaesthesia bar. Optionally a small flexible arm is also available for direct retractor mounting. The camera head and the cable can be sterilized by soaking or EtO or plasma. By connecting our optional DV video converter you can record directly to your computer system where you can edit and stream the video for further use.
Databases about operations, especially about those rarely performed, can so easily be created for training and reference purposes. Operations can also be easily stored and documented for quality management purposes. Live video conferences can be connected. Working on small structures, like in infant cardiac surgery, can also be largely facilitated by looking at them on a large screen during the operation.
