Thoracic Surgery and VATS
Thoracic surgery includes prevention and diagnosis, including instrumental investigation procedures and postoperative surgical treatment of disorders and diseases of lung, Pleura, the bronchial system, the mediastinum and the chest wall,  particularly in the context of tumor treatment.

It is usually carried out through a thoracotomy, by opening the chest. Video-assisted surgical techniques (VATS) are becoming of an increasing importance. They allow minimal skin incisions with significantly reduced  trauma.

GEISTER offers a comprehensive program for these procedures. Our ThoraGate ™ endoscopy instruments, in combination with the  well-known ValveGate™ instruments, provide for an excellent solution for thoracoscopic VATS procedures.

For the passing of thoracic drainage tubes we offer special pliers , called Chest Tube Passers.
