The new reciprocating GEISTER accu sternum saw system has been specially designed for primary sternotomy with a protecting blade guard. It features a service-free powerful brushless motor, service-free electronic motor control, a solid aluminium casted housing, user friendly tool-free connections and blade mounts, 150W output power, 9.6V NiMh battery technology, electronic control triggers with hall sensor for continuous speed adjustment from 0 to 14000/min and low weight of only 1.4 kgs with accu (1.1 kgs without accu).
The saw cuts through hard chest bones or soft pediatric bones effectively and quickly. The twist lock saw blade attachement accomodates both superior and inferior approach and which is unique, even a sideways approach. Speed is controlled by a progressive electronic trigger. An electronic “safe” locking mode can be quickly released by the touch of the lower button, and will switch back to "safe" automatically 20 seconds after last use. Accu recharging is effected quickly and without any memory effect and can be easily supervised by colored LED of the accu charger station. The accu is then inserted into the sterilized saw before the operation with a sterile hopper.
